“This is a boat that was pitched to us as a performance cruiser, and I think it’s an honest one,” says Boat of the Year judge Tim Murphy of the Dufour 500 Grand Large.
As befits the flagship of the line, the 500 Grand’ Large sports the bells and whistles you’d expect to find on an oceangoing 50-footer. A plumb bow and stern and beam carried well aft give the 410 Grand’ Large lots of room below for well-thought-out living spaces. On deck, a split cockpit ensures the skipper has room to work behind twin wheels, while the crew lounges around the teak drop-leaf table.
